01Summary
Required
No permission prompts are required. The app only needs an internet connection.
Optional
Only iOS “Allow Tracking”—and every feature works even if you decline.
Sai does not request access to your camera, photos/storage, location, contacts, microphone, notifications or Bluetooth, and does not access that information.
02iOS
| Permission | Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Allow Tracking (App Tracking Transparency) | Optional | If allowed, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is used to show more relevant ads and measure ad performance. If declined, you see non-personalized ads with no feature limitations. |
How to change: turn Sai on or off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, or in Settings › Sai › Allow Tracking.
03Android
On Android, Sai does not request any runtime (dangerous) permissions. The permissions below are normal permissions granted at install time and used by the app and Google components (Firebase, AdMob).
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet, network state | Sign-in, saving and syncing entries, AI features, articles, ads |
| Advertising ID (AD_ID) and Android ad APIs | Showing ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention (within your ad consent) |
| Install Referrer | Statistics on how the app was installed |
| Wake lock, foreground service, Google services messaging | Reliable data delivery by Firebase and Google Play services libraries (the app itself does not send notifications) |
Reset or delete your advertising ID: Settings › Privacy › Ads or Settings › Google › Ads (names vary by device and OS version).
04About sign-in
- Phone sign-in: you receive a verification code by SMS, but Sai does not request permission to read your messages. Enter the code yourself or use your device's built-in autofill if available.
- Google and Apple sign-in: you approve sign-in on Google's or Apple's own screen; Sai never receives your password.
05Ad consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Users in these regions see Google's ad consent screen the first time they open the app. You can review and change your choice any time in Me › Ad privacy settings.
06Notes
If a future feature needs a new permission, we will update this page and the in-app information first, and explain why when the permission is requested. Menu names and locations may differ by OS version.
